The Acoustic Guitar

The guitar is a musical instrument that has many varieties and is widely used. In this post I am going to briefly describe the different kinds of guitars there are out there.

The Acoustic Guitar

~ has been used for thousands of years, in obviously variant forms
~ made of wood, with a large hour glass shape, hollow, and has a neck, and has strings
~ playing is done by plucking the strings by finger or by using a pick

3 Types of Acoustic Guitars
 * Classical Guitar: has nylon strings
* Steel-String Acoustic Guitar: the steel strings create a brighter and louder sound. This type of acoustic is the most commonly used and is referred to as just an acoustic guitar
* Archtop Guitar: similar to the steel-string, the only real difference is that the neck is slightly arched top giving a more bluesy and jazz sound.

I love the acoustic guitar. I actually play a little, a very little but I'd love to learn more. I appreciate the sound of it. I love to sing and singing is way more fun when there is a musical instrument, as versatile as the guitar to go along with it. It is an amazing instrument with a beautiful sound. There are some other kinds of guitars such as the electric guitar, but I find the acoustic guitar more attractive of a sound.

  1. Personally, I prefer the electric guitar for the screaming power it puts out. I associate acoustic guitars with sad songs and cowboys. They really can sound lovely though and they are much more portable because you don't need an amp.

  2. This is interesting, I did not know that there were different kinds of acoustic guitars. I really like the acoustic sound too - I agree that it has a beautiful sound. Can acoustic guitars also be used with an amp?
