Paul Is Dead: Still More "Proof" from Magical Mystery Tour

Part 1 / Part 2

The most common clue associated with this album is the walrus. conspiracy theorists for some reason contend that the walrus is a viking symbol of death and misfortune. It is unknown where or when this tidbit of information began being included in people's lists of clues that Paul is Dead. There is no evidence that any culture has used the walrus as a symbol for death. The walrus on the album is actually intended as a reference to The Walrus and The Carpenter by Lewis Carroll.
The stars spelling out the band name were also used as a clue. If the album cover was looked at in the mirror, and the right stars were connected, a phone number was said to appear. One single phone number was never agreed upon but calling said numbers would supposedly connect to a funeral parlor or a man claiming to be Billy Shears.

The album came with a 24 page booklet which has been as thoroughly scanned for clues of Paul's demise as the rest of the post-rumoured-death Beatles' albums. Included in the book is a picture of Paul behind a sign that says "I was," a picture of the Beatles surrounded by doctors, Paul Barefoot, and an image for Fool on the Hill where Paul appears to have been drawn with a crack in his head.

Most of the evidence used by people who want to prove that Paul is Dead involves Paul being different than the other Beatles. For example, his appearing barefoot and facing backwards. An example of this on Magical Mystery Tour would be the infamous black carnation. While the other Beatles wear red ones in the photo, Paul's is black.

Even though Paul is most likely alive, these kinds of clues do point to his death in a way. It was his ego that drove him and John apart. He always had to be differnet and appear as the "main Beatle." Instead of working together, Paul and John began a sort of song writing arms race, destroying their friendship as well as their amazing creative potential as a team. This is arguably the main blow that killed the Beatles. Paul did die, but so did Ringo, George, and John.

  1. I think that it would be exceptionally difficult to find someone with the same talent as a singer/songwriter and also look like Paul. Some of these clues seem like they could be real while others are shots in the dark. Have the Beatles themselves or the "fake" Paul ever commented on this theory?
